Design Engineer
Job Description
- Design cookers, melters, depositors, extruders, and other processing equipment from concept to production.
- Develop detailed SolidWorks models and drawings using strong GD&T fundamentals.
- Apply hygienic design standards (3-A, FDA, USDA) and select proper food-grade materials.
- Perform engineering analysis (thermal, stress, performance) for high-temperature, continuous-duty applications.
- Collaborate with process engineers and customers to meet product and performance requirements.
- Support prototype builds, FAT/SAT testing, and design-for-manufacturing improvements.
- Create technical documentation and troubleshoot field issues as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience (food or pharma equipment a plus).
- Strong 3D CAD skills and understanding of sanitary design.
- Knowledge of stainless-steel fabrication and finishing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Clear, professional communication with internal teams and customers.
