Job Summary:
  • As the Electrical and Automation Engineer, you hold a critical role in overseeing all aspects related to Electricity, Automation, Process Control, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and the Factory Automation System (FAS) infrastructure. Operating in line with industry standards, specifications, and local codes and regulations, you play a pivotal part in maintaining the plant's efficiency, safety, and quality at a high level. This position, based in our Bloomington, IL production plant, reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Job Duties:
  • Utilize extensive experience as a troubleshooter of last resort in electrical systems within a manufacturing facility.
  • Manage all technical aspects of the plant's electrical power distribution, from the utility company service entrance through switchboards, transformers, distribution panels, etc., to all individual loads.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all factory electrical and automation needs, coordinating with central engineering, OEMs, vendors, utility, etc.
  • Specify, design, modify, configure, and verify electrical and automation systems.
  • Conduct in-depth and high-level troubleshooting on electrical and automation systems.
  • Lead, support, and train the plant's Electrical and Automation team, including Control Techs, Maintenance Supervisors, and others, within a Union environment.
  • Provide professional technical support to the Electrical & Automation team.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing OR Journeyman electrical certification and 15 years of industrial electrical and automation experience in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of automation, electrical systems, and networking in a manufacturing facility.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety.
