Sterling Engineering is looking for a Sales Engineer for a leading of manufacturer of advanced technology to help reduce pollution. This is a great opportunity to work with a company that has great benefits!
Job Duties:
- Review bid specifications and provide exceptions/clarifications for pricing development and proposal input for various technologies, including SNCR, ULTRA, UDI, SCR Systems, DGI, and future offerings.
- Support estimating processes and improve cost accuracy in collaboration with Project Execution and Purchasing.
- Obtain technical input from Project Execution for RFQ packages and incorporate responses into proposals.
- Develop supplier and contractor bid specifications, including commercial and technical details for FTEK technologies.
- Coordinate proposal development across Marketing, Sales, Project Execution, and Legal teams.
- Create engineering and contractor installation schedules.
- Participate in internal project kickoff meetings to ensure a smooth handoff from Sales to Project Execution.
- Address constructability and BOP concerns in relation to new product development.
- Establish estimating standards, specifications, and exception sets for consistent proposal development.
- Ensure clear project turnover with defined scope, schedule, budget, and contract obligations.
- Support contract management activities such as reviewing terms, insurance, shipping, and supplier qualifications.
- Oversee component fabricators and external engineering firms during pre-contract phases.
Qualifications:
- BS degree required; BS in Engineering preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in proposal engineering, cost estimating, project engineering, or project management.
- Familiarity with power plant installation codes (B31.1, API 650) preferred.
- Understanding of commercial terms, contracts, and insurance requirements is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Leadership abilities with a strong commitment to ethical conduct.
- Must be able to travel 5–10% of the time.
