Reliability Engineer
Job Description
The Reliability Manager (RM) oversees the implementation of the plant's preventive maintenance programs to ensure consistent availability and functioning of equipment, thereby supporting efficient electricity and process steam production. Working closely with the Operations and Maintenance Manager (O&MM) and staff, the RM manages plant inspections, equipment repair, and installation to align with long-term reliability objectives. Responsibilities include coordinating both daily and long-term maintenance schedules, supervising maintenance activities, and ensuring adherence to project milestones and budgets. Additionally, the RM serves as an expert on all steam and electricity production equipment, including Heat Recovery Steam Generators, Extraction Steam Turbines, Fans, Pumps, and Environmental Compliance equipment such as dry scrubbers, along with associated Balance of Plant equipment.
- Management of preventative and proactive maintenance program
- Ensuring all programs are up to date and complied in schedule and scope
- Assessing existing programs to identify areas for enhancement and introducing updated or novel initiatives with a focus on cost-efficiency.
- Keeping records in CMMS Maximo PM and generating weekly and monthly KPI reports utilizing Maximo and Excel templates, as well as creating new templates when required.
- Routinely utilizing plant data historian software to analyze equipment data trends for monitoring equipment health and diagnosing issues, and integrating findings into reports.
- Taking charge of plant personnel, contractors, consultants, and testing firms by instilling a proactive culture and strategy to uphold peak plant availability, profitability, and performance.
- Formulates technical scopes of work for engineering and maintenance contractors.
- Establishes and follows approved project cost budgets and schedules.
- Supports in the execution of compliance and acceptance testing of equipment.
- Participates in plant construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Consistently coordinates and communicates activities to direct supervision, and offers management updates as necessary.
- Balances office and field responsibilities, with approximately equal time distribution depending on project demands.
Qualifications:
- 4 Year Engineering or Technology degree or equivalent experience, BSME preferred
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance in fossil fuel power/utilities with relevant experience in leading proactive, preventative, reliability maintenance programs
