Job Summary:
  • The role of a Mold Restoration Technician entails the maintenance and repair of plastic tooling molds, ranging in size from 17 tons to 400 tons.

Job Duties:
  • Collaborate with Plastics Personnel to diagnose and resolve tooling issues effectively.
  • Interpret and comprehend tool drawings from blueprints or digital sources.
  • Proficiently utilize standard shop measuring instruments and operate toolroom equipment such as milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, band saws, drill presses, as well as hand tools, chain hoists, and hydraulic hand trucks.
  • Possess knowledge of injection molding processes, material properties, mold setup procedures, and auxiliary processing equipment.
  • Demonstrate self-reliance in tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Adhere to the existing Mold Preventive Maintenance Program and contribute recommendations for preventing future tool failures.
  • Operate forklifts and lift trucks when necessary.
  • Uphold excellent housekeeping practices and observe all safety protocols.
  • Follow ISO procedures in all tasks.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Engineering, fellow technicians, and Machine Maintenance.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Five years or more of experience within the Injection Molding Industry, specializing in the repair of Injection Molding Tooling.
  • Proficiency in mathematics.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Fluent in English communication.
  • Capability to occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds, including repetitive lifting.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 requirements.
