Job Posting: Field Service Technician
Pay Range: $65k-$70k per year
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Technician - Custom to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for final assembly, testing, field installation, and service of our machinery. You will also participate in customer product testing, demonstrations, technician education, and final quality control inspection of machinery prior to shipment. Occasional travel to non-local customer sites (30% of the time) is required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform machinery installations, service, and warranty claims professionally and in a timely manner.
- Provide technical support for machinery upgrades and configurations, documenting field corrections and problems.
- Conduct testing of customer-supplied product samples for equipment compatibility and configuration.
- Perform final quality and performance testing of machinery.
- Assist and engage with customers during machinery acceptance visits.
- Review recommended spare parts lists for new machinery.
- Identify opportunities to solve customer problems and improve practices.
- Maintain an organized work environment (5S) for efficient testing.
- Communicate needed changes to eliminate errors or inefficiencies.
- Utilize resources to identify failures and causes during service calls.
- Understand the scope of service calls for efficient performance.
- Follow standards and procedures.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or 1-2 years of industry experience (or equivalent combination).
- 12-18 months of training as a Custom Machine Assembler.
- Proficiency in PLC, Electrical (AC/DC Fundamentals), and Machine Shop (Mill and Lathe Technology).
- Ability to read drawings, operate basic machine shop equipment, and use measuring tools.
- Familiarity with assembly drawings, electrical and air schematics, and ladder logic.
- Knowledge of relevant certification and standards (OSHA, ANSI/PMMI, NFPA, NEC).
- Willingness to learn and continuously improve.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Travel required (25-30% annually).
