Job Description
Job Title: Control Systems Engineer
Our company is seeking a talented Control Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and debugging schematics and software for automated machinery and other mechanically functioning equipment. You will work collaboratively with other engineers and departments to continuously improve processes and deliver quality products and services to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities:
- Continuously improve processes and deliver conforming quality products and services to internal/external customers
- Detailed designs
- Coding and programming (PLC / HMI)
- CAD design / drafting
- Concept development
- Process development
- Feasibility
- Shop/floor project resource/problem resolution
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Interface with mechanical design
- Troubleshooting problems
- Brainstorm alternatives
- May require exposure to prototype testing and rework associated with new inventions
- Work with other engineers and take a lead role at times for prototype development
- Provide customer service
- Provide technical assistance to Quoting Department
- Streamline designs with independent contractors, engineering consultants, design firms, and programming services
- Analyze customer requirements
- Documentation
- Participate in line up meetings
- Lead, attend and provide input on concepts and design review meetings
- Vendor quotation
- Generate reports
- Participate in training
- Investigate/research new projects
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related is preferred
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational/prioritization skills
- Interpersonal/communications (written and verbal) skills
- 5+ years’ experience in controls system design and PLC/HMI programming
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Proficient in PLC programming, robots, and vision systems
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Ability to travel when necessary
